Counselor
After more than 30 years as an educator, minister, counselor, and consultant; I realized that the one thing I am most passionate about is working one-on-one with others – watching them discover clarity, restoration, hope, and passion. This is the single endeavor where I get to bring all that I am to all that I do.
My clients include (a) individuals navigating the difficult transitions of life; (b) professionals struggling to navigate the dynamics of their careers and the resulting impact on their personal lives; and (c) individuals struggling to escape cognitive distortions that proliferate unhealthy conflict, anxiety, and/or depression.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relational conflict, work-related stress, and life-stage transitions. Based on the uniqueness of each client, I incorporate treatments from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), solution focused therapy (SFT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and personality disorder (PD) treatment

A former tenured professor of clinical and organizational psychology at Vanguard University, I taught graduate courses such as Psychosocial Stressors and Mental Health; Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality; Behavior and Psychology in Organizations, and Psychology of Leadership and Motivation. I also taught graduate psychology courses for Pepperdine University and Concordia University's Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling. Other courses included Clinical Psychopathology and Diagnosis; Career and Lifestyle Development; Theories of Counseling; Methods and Practice of Research Evaluation; and Human Growth and Development.
I received my Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, and my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University. I also earned a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Cross Cultural Studies.
